Bible Presentation

Oma and Papa came down the first weekend of September for Isaac's Bible Presentation at church. The presentation was on September 7th, and they stayed 'til Hurricane Ike kicked us all out of town. We had such a great time and I can't wait to see everyone again.

While we were standing up there in front of the entire church on his first day back in several weeks, Dr. Young only spoke to the families, while someone else addressed the congregation. So, he asked all of us if we were nervous raising our children in today's world. And of course, I'm nodding my head YES as loud as I can...without really saying it. And he said, "just make sure you do three things......love him, make sure he knows (and sees) that mom and dad love each other, and bring him to church so we can love on him." Sounds simple enough...I just need to pray everyday that this world doesn't get the best of me and that I continue to give my family the best parts of me and leave the stress at the front door when I get home at the end of every day.

Before Dr. Young prayed over the families, let me give you a hint of what was going on behind the scenes. There were four or five families and we were the second in line to walk out on the stage. So, the families are down a hallway waiting for our cue from the director who is back there with us lining us up and all. So, all of a sudden, it's time. She tells the first couple to go out, then it's our turn to go out. The choir is still singing......and singing......Isaac is trying to lean over Dell's arm to look at them. They finish that song and start another......it seemed like forever and at one point I wanted to make sure that I wasn't blocking or standing in front of the couple that came out behind us, so I look to my left and there is no one there. NICE!!! We went out too early. LOL!! So, there we were......I was already nervous enough standing on stage during the Sunday morning service. It was packed and we were just standing up there while everyone else on the stage was sitting down listening to the choir. So funny......the director was so apologetic after the presentation, they must have changed the line-up a little bit or something. It was just cracking my up because I really didn't know what to do with myself. I was glad I held on to Isaac's bib so at least I'd have something to do with my hands. LOL!!

After the presentation we took Isaac to the nursery and we went up to the balcony to sit for the service (since Marlaina and my parents were sitting at the FRONT and we didn't want to disturb the service). Well, about five minutes after we sat down, the pager for the nursery went off......that's never happened. So, I got up to go check it out and see what was going on. When I walked up to the half-door of his room, he was crying so hard and had been for a while, he threw up. Poor baby......so, I took him out and he was fine. He doesn't make much noise, so I decided to take him back to the service with me. Well, he was a little hot, so I decided to take his shoues off. Hmmmmmm, didn't he have TWO shoes on this morning. LOL! Dell was gracious enought to find out how I came back from the nursery, and he went on the shoe search. And was successful. Ok, so maybe it wasn't the best decision to bring him into the service with us. We were sitting up there for about 15 - 20 minutes and he started making noise......not crying (thankfully), but he was wanting to play and giggle and laugh. So, I took him out and we waited for Dell to come out at the end of the service.

After the service we took Oma and Papa to the Grand Lux restaurant. The food was good, and OF COURSE the company was great!!

I'll have to upload the pics my mom took later......but here are a couple after the sevice. Sorry I didn't get any of you with him Marlaina...... :-(

You can't really see us here, but we are on the right. This is when it was just the two couples up there...before they were ready for us. LOL!!

And here is Oma with Isaac after the service. He had a little sweater vest on too, but since he got so worked up in the nursery, I took it off...along with his shoes and socks. Poor thing wore himself out.

And here is Isaac and daddy outside the restaurant. It was so cute he was just studying the trees and grass and everything on the way in.
